people should stay out political arguments if they don't have anything constructive to say. misinformation is already rampant, politicals ideologies are becoming more divided, so i really doubt some low blow is gonna do the world any good. it breeds more hate and we've got plenty of that.

Sometimes you hve to let people air their stupid thoughts so you can break them down.

I think that's a bit of a closing-the-barn-door type of thing

We're so far past that point already

then what "nonconstructive" actions do you approve of and why

I guess my point is that it doesn't matter what I approve of or don't. Trying to disapprove of people saying nonconstructive things is like trying to disapprove of the rain, or something. I don't know. Maybe I'm just in a gloomy mood. But trying to have a productive political conversation, ever, seems radically impossible.

That is what Right-ists and right-ist apologists always say. First they vomit up their own reprehensible political views then say that people should stop talking politics if they challenge them. Why do you think your pedophilic Republican uncle gets to talk about Tehz Gays and Niggers but when anyone points out that that is bullshit they are always shushed. The suppression of political discussion always favors the Right.

Yep.

Note I never said constructive means no criticism. Nobody likes being told they're wrong, but explaining kindly with the intent of changing of someone's opinion is what I'm hoping for.

So true.
