That was my average work week back when I had a corporate job in New York. Hell most of the time it was more like 80.

Yes, I hope you were being paid the big bucks for that at least.


My friend racked up 30 DAYS worth of overtime in her job last year. She gets paid a lot but I'd, is it worth it?

In the sense that I was able to pay off my student loans and save up enough for my eventual MA in those 2 years, then yeah, it was worth it. I feel like you have to go in with some kind of end goal in mind, though, otherwise it would seriously be soul-crushing. That industry (consulting) was never going to be my career track so I could tough it out until I was ready to move on, which was also the case for a lot of my colleagues. People moved on to law school, business school, startups, etc. after a couple of years.

Right now I'm in a much better place buuuuuuut my gf started a similar job last year and it's kind of killing our relationship, so Corporate America is back on my shit list.
