I take your point. No one is preventing anyone from doing anything. From my reading of OP's secret, they sound like they're criticizing the kind of fun that people are having and characterizing it as bad or wrong. I don't understand why they're characterizing it that way, or being critical of it. I apologize if that is in any way unreasonable or incorrect; please inform me if I am misconstruing anything. I guess if expressing a dislike of how other people fandom is criticizing, then maybe. But then you're also expressing a dislike for how OP wants to fandom, aren't you? ;)

I'm not saying OP is right or wrong, I'm simply saying that critiquing something whether it's mild or vehement, is NOT the same thing as preventing people from doing that thing. So many people conflate the two, but it's an overreaction.

I agree that criticizing someone's fun is not preventing them from having their fun. I do think that there's a relationship there and the sense that i got, correctly or incorrectly, from OP is that they definitely wanted everyone to go away and stop talking about it even if they didn't have the power to enforce that.

I have no objection to OP talking about the series however they want, and it does genuinely suck for them if they're unable to find those discussions, but I'm also generally annoyed at the idea that people who like to analyze things aren't having fun or are ruining everything or whatever, especially in fandom circles. I hope you can see the difference between the kind of annoyance that I'm talking about and the problem that I have with what OP said.

Yeah... I think you're reading a bit too much into what the secret says. OP is just describing how they went looking for discussion tumblr, but it was a mistake because what they found wasn't what they hoped for. The end. There's absolutely nothing about wanting them to stop, or thinking they ought to stop, or suggesting they're "ruining everything". Like, I understand what you're objecting to, but I think that it's a reach to say OP is doing any of those things you're complaining about.

I can understand that, but my reading is more "Why is everyone having this type of fun, where are all the people having my type of fun?". Less "You people are bad and wrong" and more "Where are all my people?"
