I liked the pseudo stop motion cgi. It reminds me of a series of stop motion cartoons I was shown in school. It was a series on folklore and mythology, with various tales from pretty much every nation, all done in wooden stop motion puppets. It was really quite enjoyable. That is what that segment reminded me of.

I liked it, too. At first I thought, "Huh. Weird." because it felt like an odd throwback... but now I think it was an interesting break from the rest of the show stylistically, that also made sense narratively.

I like that they are not afraid to go stylized. I think one of the great things about this series is that they are not afraid to make an effect look like an effect for the specific intent of having an effect shot, IYSWIM. It is a huge change from the way that so many shows seem to try and make everything "realistic" and "gritty". I can understand it pisses off the grimgritty boys though. Their wails of "Buuuuuuuuut why doesn't it look reeeeeeeeeeeal" is one of the great things about it. I feel certain the character of Media would approve, especially since Technical Boy would be the one leading the wail.
