...I'm on the fence about seeing this movie but I think the costumes are going to win out in the end.
That's seriously Ewan McGregor? *squints* I know my facial recognition isn't the best, but man, I just can't see it. Would definitely recognize his voice though.

I grew up in the 90s and I hated the animated movie. Still do. Well, I recognize its artistic value but I can't stand the movie itself, if that makes sense. So maybe I'll like the live action version better?

OP here and, as I said, I never liked the original movie. I remember liking some songs, but I don't think I've seen it more than once. I had no intention of seeing this movie and just about the only things I knew was that Emma Watson was in it. I had no idea Lumiere was played by Ewan McGregor until the very end when he turned back into a human.

Anyway, I did end up liking this movie a lot more than I expected, so maybe you will, too? I found Belle to be a much more interesting character than before and, in general, I think all of the characters have been given more depth. Visually, it's really impressive, what with the costumes, the colours...really, really beautiful. The cast is pretty amazing, too. So maybe give it a chance?

I had no plans about seeing this one because I felt the same way that you did about the original. Guess it might be worth giving it a chance?

Well, I definitely think it's worth it...I went in with no expectations whatsoever, prepared to give up if I found it too annoying, but my mind was blown. As long as you don't take it too seriously, it's a highly enjoyable movie.
