I'm of the opinion that if you've gone this long with no desire for kids, having kids just because you think you ought to is not a good reason to have one.

And it's a lot worse to regret having a kid in 10 years and have one than to regret not having a kid and not having one. At least in the latter case, you can still do stuff for other people's kids. In the former you're stuck with your choice and it's not fair to the kid in question.
