THAT'S A GOOD THING! YOU WANT TO BE TREATED AS AN EQUAL IN A MARRIAGE! Why one earth would you want your husband to treat you as a subordinate? True, the bible says a woman must treat her husband with respect, but you're not a servant; you deserve to have an equalsay in the household and in life in general. What about Judith and Esther? They certainly didn't roll over- they're your kickass, righteous women right there!

Not the OP, but I agree with everything you just said. But, out of curiousity, does it ever say in the Bible that a husband should treat his wife with respect? I'm not trying to challenge you or anything, but I'm not Christian and was a bit curious about that for some time.

And also, kickass Bible women FTW.

Yes, yes it does. In one of Paul's letters... somewhere. I'm sorry, but the reference escapes me -- it's in the Wikipedia article about women in the Bible, I believe...

I Corinthians 7 is dedicated to marriage. Then there's Ephesians 5:22-33,emphasis on Ephesians 5: 28 "In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself." There's also numerous others in the Old Testament which I can't remember. Those chapters contain messages for husbands and wives, but people generally skip the husbands bit and straight into the submissive wife bit.
