I think it's mostly the anime (though I've only watched a little bit of one episode - I couldn't stand Goku's voice). In the manga he looks like a teenager at least.

LOL I should have been more specific. XD He does look a tad younger in the anime (mostly because they change things like how shadows play on his face and such) but a teenager is still a kid to me - I'm 28. XD

I think he grows up a lot during the manga, though; the mahjong scene for example, where he is the one to scold Sanzo (and the others), and lead them right. Also, one can see that his body is developed like an adult there, while he looks much more undeveloped in the anime (from what I've seen).

But yeah, you're right, he still looks much younger than the other three.

Of course, I was eleven years old when I discovered/fell in love with ~~Goku~~ Saiyuki, so the fact that he looked like a kid was A-Okay with me. But apparently, not so for my classmates who were all head-over-heels for Sanzo. D:

Lol, idk if I should brave the fandom, what with all the crazy slashers XD I'm mostly just sitting on the sidelines XD
