167. Bwah ha... well of COURSE! That's why I get kinda pissed off when fanart of him pre-timeskip is drawn un-scarred. And yeah... I'm sure a few of those are battle wounds... but not all of them (and yay that still fits my personal fanon perfectly).

Not the OP, but I am curious how he got the other scars. How do you think he got them in your fanon?

*guilty grin* Well... okay... here's a short kinda longish explanation of my fanon.

Firstly, it can't have been easy working his way up the ranks to become Captain (especially with Viral having such a combative personality as he does). So firstly it would have been a combination of hand-to-hand fighting and army training. Then, during his time in the Human Annihilation Army he'd have received injuries in piloting Enki against the human resistance. Then, losing his status after Thymilph's defeat, he returns to Teppelin where he runs in to the other members of the Big 4, who are not nearly as trusting of him as Thymilph was. Adiane is physically abusive and Cytomander just loves lording his power over others in any way he can(Guame I tend to leave out of the equation as he doesn't concern himself in the dealings of the younger generals and there's nothing to actually support the fact that he and Viral actually meet in canon). But whilst Viral desperately wants to gain Adiane's approval (and is constantly beaten and rejected because of it)... I imagine he's also trying to avoid Cytomander (cue speculative Cyto/Viral non-con theory). It's clear he kinda detests Cytomander, as this general is the only one he openly defies and causes the defeat of in battle (despite all the 'things' Cyto claims he's done for Viral).

So yeah... numerous theories for the scarring in there... all kinda supporting my ships of Viral/Adiane UST and Cyto/Viral Non-con. Makes me happy at least (even though I'm sure there's an equally good argument against each of my points too). ... Maybe's I've put too much thought into this?

Thank you *grins*. I'm glad you think it'd fit into canon well... I do always try to make my theories fit (though seriously, I probably put waaaaay too much time into analysing the background stuff).
