A friend of mine used to close her eyes and plug her ears with her fingers and hum. Or if you have friends that will hold your seat and don't want to plug your ears, you could go out the door then peek in occasionally to see if the previews ended. It's not impossible to avoid.

I watch movies by myself. If I'm going out with friends,I tend to want to do things where I can interact with them. I've mostly managed to avoid them because I tend to watch movies at my little local cinema, which doesn't show any previews. I do appreciate the suggestions, though.
