That fire was horrific and the reason it happened was the rich people near the tower block thought it looked ugly and demanded it be cloaked in highly flammable cladding to make it look nicer. Apparently they could have used non-flammable cladding, but that would have cost more than the flammable stuff. Poor people literally died so the rich could have a nicer view.

No, sadly this is pretty much the truth. Of course the real fault lies with the cost cutting landlord and the politicians who sat on the tower safety review for four years.

Some of the rich neighbours are hipster fashionistas, so they may have twiddled their moustaches as it burned. But mainly as a part of their normal 3 hour a day moustache grooming routine.
