That fire was horrific and the reason it happened was the rich people near the tower block thought it looked ugly and demanded it be cloaked in highly flammable cladding to make it look nicer. Apparently they could have used non-flammable cladding, but that would have cost more than the flammable stuff. Poor people literally died so the rich could have a nicer view.

Baseball shooter was from my area so I've been hearing loads about it. Glad no death besides the shooter came out of it.

Everyone is making a big thing about how the baseball shooter was Bernie supporter and thus automatically a dangerous extremist. I bet if he'd been a Trump supporter who shot a Democrat he's just be a misunderstood freedom fighter.

I'm as liberal as they come, but the buzz around my social media would be the opposite. If this guy were a Republican, there would be absolute rioting outrage.

I was talking with someone clearly on the Right today on tumblr.

Said the usual bs rhetoric - blacks are lazy, they get handouts like affirmative action (which benefit white women more), institutional racism was made up by the democrats (that's a new one)

obviously I disagreed with all of this but they did say ONE thing I kind of understood.

That if people had pointed out that this dude was possibly unstable and mentally ill instead of being PC and not wanting to "discriminate", maybe he wouldn't have had several incidents like this.

Another incident took place in 2006, involving alleged domestic battery and unlawful discharge of a shotgun. That case was dismissed.

Why did they dismiss this? Why didn't he get some counseling (probably state mandated and bare bones) for that? I don't even disagree with his thoughts about trump tbh but come on

Pointing out that someone is a danger to themselves and others isn't shameful.
