I think "unbelievably shitty" is an exaggeration. I can't think of anything that any of my friends have done that's really so bad. I'm not saying they're perfect and I agree with the broader point that everyone has made mistakes and has opinions that don't fit the current perfect liberal ideal, but you have a much more negative view of humanity than I do.

He's not saying all people ARE shitty, he's saying that they're all shitty according to the the OP's standards (which he decided on himself, without asking the OP).

No, Im saying that people are capable of moments of utter shittyness by their own standards. You never snapped at someone who didn't deserve it and then didn't feel bad about it untill hours later? You never had a vile thought pop into your head and think "Oh thank fuck I didn't say that out loud?" well some people do say it out loud. That doens't make them a bad person, but if you asked them, they would agree "Yes, I'm a shitty person for that". No-one considers themselves to be a decent human being all the time.
