Ugh, no. I know he was part of the social movement 20 years ago, but his stuff is quite transphobic now you look back at it. We've moved on a lot from his "Action Transvestite" stuff.

I don't think Eddie Izzard is transphobic.
I also don't know of anything objectionable Hugh Laurie said or did apart from smoking and liking It's A Wonderful Life, both of which I think are outflanked by his many good qualities.

I haven't seen the skits but from what I've heard he's never claimed to be anything but a transvestite, not a transsexual. Two very different things. Was there something in particular about the skits that were about trans people or just about crossdressers?

I may be in the minority, but I don't think Eddie Izzard is particularly funny. It's got nothing to do with how nice or not nice he is. His humor is too rambling for me.
