Re: What is something that immediately ruins a movie for you?
(Anonymous) 2017-06-16 12:23 am (UTC)(link)Hateful jokes (ie. racist, homophobic, etc.). I don't usually watch movies with this type of humor, but when one slips into an otherwise fun movie it's kind of jarring.
Killing innocent, kind characters to create drama (ex. the old couple in Wolverine, the family (in addition to Logan's friends) in Logan). I will not watch the latter again for a multitude of reasons, but the absolute slaughter of "good" characters in that segment completely ruined it for me.
Similarly, hurting/killing animals for a joke or just to be a dick. Hunting for food or defending yourself is fine, but accidentally hitting the neighbor's annoying dog with your car and making a witty one-liner about it is awful.
