Re: Is it ever worth it...
(Anonymous) 2017-06-18 12:22 am (UTC)(link)Don't fucking compare this to biphobia, bisexual people actually have reason to be in the LGBT community. They're the fucking B. If you're asexual and also one of the letters in that acronym, then yeah, you should be included, but if not you're not? You're not oppressed, you're not "queer", and you need to stop this homophobic bullshit.
ISTG, you fuckers act like LGBT is an exclusive club you can join and the meanie gays won't let you in for no reason because they're SOOOOOOOO mean.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-18 12:36 am (UTC)(link)Heteromantic asexuals and aromantic heterosexuals are straight. They do not belong in the LGBT community. They have no reason to be there/
Aromantic asexuals, while not straight, have no reason to be in the LGBT community, which consists of people - lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans - who've faced similar oppression, marginalization, and fuckery from society due to their orientation, sexual expression, gender presentation, etc. and thus have banded together in solidarity against that oppression, marginalization, and fuckery.
People who are not L, G, B, or T - such as, for example, straight asexuals, have no place in this and need to stop trying to shove their way into LGBT discussions and LGBT spaces.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-18 02:38 am (UTC)(link)Maybe not to the same degree I, a lesbian, am, but... Jesus fuck, a gay man isn't oppressed 100% the same way I am, either.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-18 04:08 am (UTC)(link)I'm really sorry about what happened to your friend, and yes, saying those things is super shitty, but it is not oppression.
No one in the history of humanity has ever lost a job because they don't fuck people. No one has ever been turned away from a doctor because they don't fuck people. No one has ever become homeless because they don't fuck people. Those things happen to asexual people, but it is not because of their asexuality as it would be with an LGBT person.
DA
(Anonymous) 2017-06-18 04:55 am (UTC)(link)History will prove you fucks wrong and I hope you get all the scorn you deserve. Seriously who sits there and says "well thats shitty but it doesn't count" when someone says they were raped because of their asexuality?
Only scum.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-23 11:07 am (UTC)(link)Re: Is it ever worth it...
(I don't think that's possible on mastodon. One can't use fulltext search to find targets for harassment, one can't reblog posts and add "yikes" or "bad post op" to the end, and there's a moderation team.)
Outside of the manure pile of tumblr, there's more debate about BLM and police organizations than there is about ace people. Heck, there's more debate about Supernatural fans, who got priority over bi orgs for London Pride, than there is about ace people. If you think ace people are some sort of existential crisis for LGBTQ communities, you're fucking wrong.
So please, take this bullshit back to tumblr discourse where it belongs.
Meanwhile, I'll be running my congregation's booth at the Savannah Pride festival in October (since the heat index in June is sadistic here). Anyone is welcome to stop by for candy, including ace people and straight allies.
