I shower every other day and rarely brush my teeth.

I used to be really casual about brushing my teeth and when I got older I lost almost all my teeth. So I do not recommend that.

Depending on where you live and what your body chemistry is like, you might be able to get away with that showering schedule, but how have your teeth not rotted out of your head?

DA--Healthy eating habits?

What about debris and residues? Is this person a regular flosser who somehow hates brushing?

To be fair, ayrt didn't say their teeth weren't rotting out of their head.

But diet can also affect oral health. If you live off of junk food and don't brush, then yeah, your teeth will be pretty bad.

Please be nicer to your fellow human beings who got to live with your breath.

Thiiiiiiiiiis. Quite often people think they don't need to shower because they can't smell their own body odor... of course YOU think you smell okay, you're marinating in your own funk 24/7. I can almost guarantee you that even if nobody's told you to your face, it's not because they can't tell you don't shower often enough. It's because they're too polite or too embarrassed.

Every other day is completely different from never showering. As long as you use deodorant and shower after heavy sweating, you should be fine.

Dude I think every other day is a LOT.

Trust me, it's part of my in-home aide's job to tell me if I stink. Otherwise, she could be fired by the home care company she works for.

Not everybody needs to shower every single day. I'm mostly homebound with good heating and air conditioning, so I rarely sweat. My family's always taken weekly baths. I actually break the mold by doing it twice a week.

"Not everybody needs to shower every single day."

True for some, but let's be real here... a lot of stinky people ALSO tell themselves this, and they're mistaken.

How many stinky people are you running into regularly basis?

I shower every other day because it's better for your skin.

I rarely brushed my teeth until a year ago and now I'm going through a long, grueling process of getting nearly all my teeth filled one by one and hoping they can all be fixed in time before I need any pulled. So, that part of your routine, you might want to change.

Frankly, showering every other day is still too often. People shower waaaay more than necessary - it dries out the skin and wastes water. Better to just use a wet washcloth every night than shower so often.

I have been trying so hard to remember to brush my teeth more but its so hard for me for some reason. Idk maybe its the depression. Most other things I can at least force or do Lite versions of (aka whore baths if I'm too out of it to fully shower), but for some reason brushing my teeth is so tiring and hard to remember.

I can't stand brushing my teeth but I floss after after meal and use mouthwash twice a day. I get my teeth cleaned every six months and my dentist has no idea I don't brush.

I had a dental hygienist tell me once that flossing was most important, and brushing was just for refreshment. I don't really believe her, but maybe she was right?

I shower every other day too (except in the summer because it gets pretty hellish here and dried up sweat is gross) and I used to be pretty bad about brushing my teeth too, but I've gotten better at it. I don't always floss though, which I know is kinda bad, but I can't stand the feeling of floss on my gums.
