I have a hard time feeling sympathy for a show that was "prematurely" cancelled when it already had at least three seasons.

I'm gonna second this.

Then again, my two favorite "canceled too soon" shows have one season, consisting of 13 and 10 episodes only, respectively.

Similarly, I hate, hate, HATE when people say a show that ended was "canceled."

Like, when I see or hear people say F.R.I.E.N.D.S. was canceled even though they knew going into the final season that it would be the final season and that it had a proper finale, I about blow a gasket. (I mean, not really because it's not a big deal, but it's a pet peeve that irks me.)

Yeah, same. My favorite "canceled too soon" shows are just one season. I mean, there are shows I liked that were canceled after a few seasons and I was sad about it, but not as much as the ones that only lasted one season.

And I agree about people saying any show that ended was canceled. Maybe technically any show ending counts as being canceled, I'm not sure, but to me if they knew ahead of time it was going to be the final season and planned the ending accordingly, then it doesn't really count as being canceled.

Prematurely means different things in different situations, though. A show that had potential or was maybe just starting to improve after three seasons feels prematurely cancelled. A show that ran its course after one season doesn't.
