Yeah most people seem to assume the poster thing was true. The confession seems really odd to me and the video is definitely not proof of anything.

Either way, yeah. I have been paying a little attention to tankie posturing as a result of this and it's really gross.

I feel so bad for his family.

Anything that North Korea claims has a high chance of being a lie. I also don't give a shit if he did try to steal a fucking poster, he still in no way deserved what happened even if he took a shit on a Kim Jong Il statue.

agreed. it's a stupid thing to do but it doesn't deserve death, and the people I've seen saying either that 1. it does (tankies) or 2. he was asking for it (some tankies and apparently some people here) are really boggling my mind.

I don't know if I trust that he did it either. I can totally believe they would force a confession. And even if he did do it, he absolutely didn't deserve the horrible things that happened to him, let alone deserve death.

Yeah the video didn't show his face and the confession was basically absurd. It's more likely to me that he didn't do it anyway. (And people are lambasting him for doing it as if they're sure he did and as if it's as horrible a crime as murder.)
