Can't speak to the fandom, but as someone disabled, I loved the depiction of disability in this movie. It was realistic without being depressing, and Dr. Strange had a really good arc where he learned to accept his hands as they are and find meaning in other things. Yeah, I thought it was awesome, pretty much.

I wasn't much interested in this movie before but that sounds like something I'd appreciate.

I also felt it handled it very well.

(The realism of some of the post injury hand makeup and special effects was so good it made me cringe.)

This makes me want to watch the movie now.

I'm not disabled, but I've worked with a disabled population, and I really liked the portrayal, too. It came across as very human and extremely relatable.

Count me among the people who, for the first time, want to see this movie.
