Princess Bride. Sorry, but just, the blatant sexism makes me wince now. I know it is probably intentional and meant to be funny. But the Wesley slapping Buttercup part still makes me uncomfortable every time.

Harry Potter has gone way down in my estimation. I still love parts of it, and I still like reading fics. But I honestly prefer fics to the books a lot of the time because there are so many things about the world that just don't make sense or don't work.

Westley pisses me off when he insults her for moving on with her life when she thought he'd been dead for five years.

That too. Westley is basically a dick and not much of a hero in a lot of ways. And yet he's supposed to be perfect. We aren't supposed to think he's being a jerk there.

I really prefer the book of the Princess Bride to the movie because the book was a lot more tongue-in-cheek. The movie had a great cast but it lost some of what I really liked about the book. But virtually everyone else likes the movie better and thinks I should too, especially since the author wrote the screenplay.

I love the book and prefer it over the movie as well, though I do genuinely, really seriously love the movie.

Sort of with you on HP. Although I wonder if that's just because I've read more fic recently than I've re read the books themselves and therefore feel like the entire story has been enriched....

Basically, I think I've adopted some fanon as canon. Although I recognize it's not. Sometimes. But only because I can't remember things out of the book, lol.
