idk about the ppl on your side of tumblr op, but the people I follow mostly just refused to see it cause of the whole white-washing controversy. So... not so much.

The thing is usually tumblr bitches and moans right up until the movie/show and then they see it anyway and fan over it. Like Iron Fist was the same flailing about cultural appropriation and whitewashing but then when it came out it was ok because he's going to be teaming up with Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Iron Man and The Mandarin whitewashing? Same thing. Ant-Man and fridging Wasp? Same song and dance. But suddenly Doctor Strange and it actually sticks? As others have said, it might just be Cumberbatch.

idk no one I follow talked about watching Iron Fist either - like when it came out I saw literally nothing about it except for the occasional "don't watch this it is racist" post

I dunno, I hang out on tumblr a lot and I saw nothing about Ant Man, nothing about Iron Man (but then when Iron Man 2 came out I wasn't on tumblr), and only one reference to Iron Fist that made the rounds, about flipping it so an Asian girl's plane crashed in the wilds of Texas and she returned to her homeland years later with arcane knowledge of the mystical art of gunslinging.

Are you kidding me? Everyone shat down the throat of Iron Fist. They even made a post describing what happens in the series so nobody has to watch it when the team up happens.

Pretty sure I was the only one in my tumblr cirle who actually watched Iron Fist. And I know I'm the only one who watched Doctor Strange.
