I've been told that a lot of it relates to British prejudice against Ron's socioeconomic class. I'm not sure how that spread to America, though.

Unless they're white and doing it BECAUSE JESUS. Or to out-breed the blacks and brown people. (There is a fairly big overlap between these groups, btw.) Then it's apparently AWESOME to have so many kids that you can't afford and pawn off on your older kids to raise.

I have literally never heard this pov from a British fan. Not saying it's impossible of course, and irl people would certainly be prejudiced against him (which is what JKR is pointing out).
