I didn't care for any of the eventual pairings, but I don't get the hate either. I would have preferred Harry end up with Luna, because she actually seemed to 'get' him. The rest seemed too incestuous. Why would Harry or Hermione need to marry Weasleys? They were already founf family.

the fact that the weasleys were de facto family for harry was the biggest issue i had with harry/ginny (because she's the one who's like a sister, not hermione - ginny's formative years with him always read more like big brother worship than genuine romantic interest and dammit i have to stop this now because yeah)

and yeah, i can definitely get on board the harry/luna train :)

I can understand that mindset. Though I think it bothers me more with Harry/Ginny because Harry really had no familial love until the Weasley's and how they pretty much took him in. Hermione at least had loving and supportive parents.

The whole idea that most people in HP marry their sixth form sweetheart who they knew since they were 11 is pretty weird in itself tbh.
