Cerave PM face lotion -- the drugstore generic is not at all the same texture.

Vienna sausages. Oreos. There are other foods but I can't think of them.

Dish soap. I always get Palmolive because my mother drilled it into our heads growing up that nothing works as well, and I've never had particular reason to get anything else.

Disney movies. Unless you're drunk or a reviewer of bad movies.

You know the ones that are obvious knock offs of successful animated movie

I'll WATCH knockoff animated movies, if you feel me. ;)

They are certainly a waste of money, lol. A lot of Disney ripoffs tend to use the same source material, so you tend to get a similar story but absolutely terrible execution (especially if they are from a country that does not specialize in filmmaking).

I'd "recommend" The Snow Queen. Hoo boy... it's bad when the most relatable character is the villain's lackey.

I know right?

I still remember the Anastasia knockoff where her family members were turned into fun sidekicks and that was so what the fuck.

and then the songs. the songs. trying SO hard to copy the original but not even close.

NAYRT Is that the one where her family got turned into instruments or is that a different knockoff? I gotta admit, I unapologetically loved that movie more than the original, even though it makes absolutely zero sense and the animation's terrible. The villain's song is great and I really liked the video someone made where it looks like Hans from Frozen is singing it.

Plastic bags (trash bags or food storage bags). The supercheap ones tear way too easily.

This. I have a long walk to the outdoor bin and trying to carry a bag that keeps trying to rip apart and drip garbage juice everywhere is just... no. After a few of those bags I ended up buying new ones and just using the cheap bags for things other than kitchen garbage.

Dish soap. Every time I use a store brand dish soap, it's too watery and it feels like I have to use twice as much to get dishes clean.

I've been using Tide laundry detergent forever, based off of my grandparents using it and actually getting their laundry clean when I was a kid. But now I suspect it wasn't just using store-brand detergent, but that my parents are *shit* at laundry.
...too lazy to swap brands though.

Tortilla chips. The offbrand ones have the most bizarrely wrong texture.
Cola. Anything other than Coke or Pepsi is just vile.

Totally agreed about the cola. That stuff is just nasty.

I only bought Safeway batteries once. They died after less than five minutes use.

Ketchup. It's got to be Heinz.

Batteries (cheap ones run out quick), canned tomato soup (only Heinz), baked beans (only SPC - I even hate Heinz because the sauce tastes like the aforementioned tomato soup and that's not baked bean sauce to me), spicy chicken wings and blue cheese (I tried Aldi's soft blue cheese but it's milder than Castello), chicken stock powder (amusingly my brand, Massel, is a vegan one, so no actual dried chicken in it), toilet paper and tissues (brands differ in feel), rosehip or other fruit teas, Trident Thai Noodle Soup (it's the only dry soup pack like it).

Also milk, but that is because when there was a kerfuffle about dairy farmers getting undercut, I switched to a name brand and the brand I switched to is NORCO, the local brand of my childhood home town. I keep buying to support a company I have strong sentimental ties to and also know produce good milk.

I had never heard of Massel before but I googled it and I think I need some in my life.

I suspect it is an Australian company, so I don't know how much it gets sold abroad, and it doesn't strike me as the sort of stuff that would turn up in an Australian Food store in the USA, because it's just a soup stock brand. You may be able to research online purchase of a box of it though.

I personally think it is amazing in flavour, even though I am not a vegetarian by any measure.

They apparently sell it in some stores near me but not close enough for me to get to. (I'm in Southern California and vegetarian/vegan food is big here.) But it looks like I can order it online and I just might.

I am vegetarian but not vegan. I like the veggie stock I make OK mixed into things but it's not good with matzo balls.

Marshmallows and peanut butter. The brand really makes a difference in how they taste. Jet Puffed are the only marshmallows for me. I'm a little more flexible with peanut butter, but generally it's JIF I go with.

I agree but for peanut butter I go with either Jif, or Peter Pan. For some reason Peter Pan tastes good to me.

Jet puffed is clearly the superior marshmallow brand tho.

I can't eat any peanut butter that has ingredients other than salt and peanuts without being grossed out by how sweet and, I dunno, pasty-textured they are, but then, I don't think I ever had the palm oil and sugar peanut butter until I was in my early teens, I'd only ever had the real stuff. Sometimes my parents would even buy peanuts and grind them at the store if we were at the hippie co-op.

coca-cola. knockoff tastes grossly sirupy usually, normal one is barely on the right side of tolerably sweet for me.
