American Gods.
It was just getting started and now it is over already. It has too short a season, and wasted two episodes on side characters too.

NuBSG
It just vanished up its own backside.

The 100.
Just. Get. On. With. It.
(and kill Clarke instead of talking about how much of a purity sue she is all the time)

HA! Omg, yes, please. So tired of Clarke and her stupid decisions and also so tired of her mom and beard-face and all their long, heartfelt, boooooring 'talks'.

It is the way that no matter what stupid or horrible thing Clarke does all the other characters immediately rush to assure her it was a good thing and she was a good person for doing it.

I wouldn't tolerate that shit in a fanfic, certainly not going to accept that sort of shilling from show writers. She is like if Gene Rodenberry had had his way and had Wesley Crusher take over as Captain of the Enterprise --Gene apparently suggested exactly that for Season 3 when it looked like Stewart wouldn't come back, but then they fired Maurice Hurley instead and Stewart was fine because it meant Gates McFadden could come back too, but you see immediately how bad that would be-- and the writers think this is a good thing. She was a sheltered 17 year old at the start of the show, who thought that even though she was in jail that her biggest problem was finding the right color of crayon to draw on the wall with, and then everyone was supposed to accept her as this brilliant leader.

I admit it, I hatewatch The 100 just so I can bitch about Clarke now.

Oooooooooooh, damn, i did not know that about Wesley. That's....horrifying. Wow.

And yes! Clarke isn't any more knowledgeable than any of the others, she just has this righteous stick up her butt. She gets people killed left and right, including 'grounders', who are understandingly furious that these condescending assholes who hid up in space are now trying to dictate to them.

I actually do like the show a lot - i adore Octavia, and John Murphy, and Jasper, and Raven, and Monty to varying degrees. I loved Lincoln before they killed him (which utterly sucked). I loved Indra, and Lexa, and Echo - there are some awesome female characters on this show. I love that they have a language for the 'grounders' and a lot of the cast use it, which always makes me happy in a show. I like the *world*, I like how the survivors organized themselves on the ground.

But OMG, the righteous, hypocritical, utterly ignorant space people are so fucking *annoying*. I ff a lot through their pontificating and whaa whaa whaaing, *particularly* beard-face and Clarke's mom. Jayzus.

I just hope that in the next season the hate-on for John Murphy stops; that's getting really old. And I was so very annoyed that they left Jasper and Monty's declaration of true love for his fucking *death scene*. Bastards. It's nice that Clarke is bi and not shy about it and there have been some good f/f scenes and relationships. But the one m/m relationship was so weird and stilted, and I didn't even know it *was* one for a couple episodes, and the two actors/characters never had an ounce of chemistry (not like Monty and Jasper. *siiiiigh*)

ANYWAY - i totally get hate watching. And it was fun to bitch to someone else! Nobody seems to be watching it that I know online.

I do kinda excuse Rodenberry a bit, because by that point in his life Gene was high as balls most of the time on medication. Stuff that a dying old man comes out with gets a bit of a pass, but yeah, the writers for the 100...

I was watching the latest season finale and all I could think was that Jaha was stone cold right when he locked the space people into that bunker and the angry space guy who said that basically the grounders knew fuck all about how to operate hydroponics and oxygen scrubbers would be doing nothing and the space people doing all the work, he was right. I know this sounds dangerously like endorsing Clarke here, but she did do a 180 on that after she took the sensible course of action and then let the grounders in even though it was dumb. She was supposed to be a good person for locking people out, then a good person for letting people in even though it made no sense and got others killed. Jesus, why? It was just creating conflict for the sake of padding runtime. If the writers wanted to have it be her making a moral choice then the bunker ought to have been written as big enough to hold everybody, maybe not comfortably, but everybody so that locking the grounders out was not a sensible choice but a selfish choice. Instead they went for the pointlessly sadistic choice that makes none of the characters very likeable.

Yeah, Jasper/Monty OTP. Why did my ship have to die?

I find all of them infuriating.

I think my biggest issue with the whole bunker thing was: Arcadia already has a dangerously small and inbred genetic pool from all their time in space and small population. Locking out the grounders and having them be the *only* people left is just a bad idea, procreation wise. And they *are* going to procreate. But pretty soon everybody will be related to everybody.

They need the grounders not only for their genes, but for surviving on the ground once the radiation is gone. They're space idiots, basically. Sure, they can grow something in a hydroponics lab, but out in the ground? They know shit. They know nothing about diseases on the ground, about animals, about weather - they just don't have a clue. And they have no ability to manufacture stuff if everything's toast in a radiation hell.

Mostly, i just really disliked the whole 'we're special, we can do this and that, they can't, so we get the bunker!!' Uh, no, you're *not* special, and the grounders deserve to live, too. They choose their people to go into the bunker and their people to die. Nothing makes the space people so special that they can't do that, too.

And yeah - stupid choice by the writers to drum up drama we didn't need (and that could have been found elsewhere). Mostly, the whole 'space people are better than savage grounders!!' shtick is getting really old, smacking of colonialism and racism and just downright idiocy. Since they landed, the spacers have been getting people killed for no good reason, left and right, and that anyone would consider them 'superior' in any way at this point is ridiculous.

Jasper/Monty 4EVAH!! I'm going to go look for fix-it fic on AO3. :)
