Quite recently in this anime seasons:
Seikaisuru Kado. Started out as a solid Sci-Fi series with some philosophical themes and interesting character. Turned into the same old tsundere romance with zero chemistry and one-dimensional villains drivel.
(And that tsundere waifu's fanboys are getting their panties in a bunch if you mention this haha.)

Kado, the one about the alien guy and his big cube thing? I watched the first couple episodes. It seemed intriguing at first, but now it's only talking and I've lost interest. I'm only interested in the alien guy himself and the funny male sidekick, and to a small amount, the negotiator protagonist, but everyone else is really boring so far. Plus, the CGI looks a bit weird at time. Was wondering if I should continue, if it got more action-oriented later or if it pretty much just stayed talking.

It seems like the second to last and last episodes have and will have less talking and more action, but it's not done in a way that I find well done. It's just... they went from fairly interesting philosophical themes to "one side is right, other side is wrong, it's black and white and bland and badly written with a forced romance that does nothing for the plot and characters that turned into overdone tropes".

I'm disappointed there's romance at all, it doesn't seem like it needs it. Between the clunky cutesy female negotiator and the protagonist, I imagine? Boo. I was in it for possible gay with the alien guy.

Yep. There's a lazy ~plot twist~ about the female negotiator as well, so... eh.
There is some subtext with the alien guy and the protagonist, and pretty intentional from what I can tell. Not sure if they'll actually go that route a bit more obviously as well in the finale next week, but at this rate, I don't even know if I'm going to watch it at all. I'm usually a slasher at heart, but in this case, zero romances would have been my preference.
