If the fandom is that toxic and policing, I'm more likely to just skip that fandom and the attachmed and give my support to media that I'm actually allowed to engage with. This is why I've had nothing to do with Steven Universe. I took one look at the fandom and went NOPE. And the best part? The publishers will see that and think, WELP guess nobody's interested in media with black characters after all.
