First, that's not what the part on the left is saying, and you know this.

Second, that's also not what the bit on the right is saying at all. The bit on the right is specifically talking about fans being hypocrites for not buying enough comic books, and is also explicitly what this thread is talking about.

Then what is it saying, then? Do not interact with black characters in the typical fannish way. You must put them on a pedestal and admire them from afar, as you would with an expensive glass doll.

BS. If the fandom is that toxic and policing, I'm more likely to just skip that fandom and the attachmed and give my support to media that I'm actually allowed to engage with. This is why I've had nothing to do with Steven Universe. I took one look at the fandom and went NOPE. And the best part? The publishers will see that and think, WELP guess nobody's interested in media with black characters after all.

Seriously, the letter on the left can go fly a kite.
