I don't point it out, but it kind of amuses me if this goes the other way, too - I know an artist who's very much your typical midwestern, latte-drinking white girl who knits and loves cats, but her favorite OC is a tough, mix-raced, chain smoking punk who takes no shit. I don't think less of her for it, but yeah, there's an obvious element of wish fulfillment for a tougher alter ego there.
