I had to blacklist muggle because of all the stupid muggle headcanons that I couldn't get away from.

I remember muggleborn headcanons being a thing last time I was on Tumblr. All these ideas about in-jokes they would have that the purebloods wouldn't understand that got old for me pretty quickly.

Oh I like some of those, honestly. The Spongebob one is kind of weird because while it did have cultural osmosis around the world I don't think it'd be something so popular multiple students would get at once.

Some of these are actually funny, like the secret society of muggleborns trying to make wifi happen at hogwarts.

But at the same time, if I had magic, I wouldn't want the internet lol or at least I wouldn't want it as much as now.

Anon is probably talking about those muggleborn headcanons that make the rounds on tumblr. Where people list off all the wacky hijinks muggleborns would surely get into at Hogwarts, like making lots of modern pop culture references to smart off in class or whatever.

They're... pretty dumb.

It's like how characters in fanfiction have an uncanny proclivity to enjoy the kinds of pop culture that people who write fanfiction enjoy.

I really hate them, so very much. They're never funny culture clash, they're all "muggleborn are so cool and awesome and purebloods are stupid backwards hicks."

Like I especially hate the "Muggleborn has a patronus that's godzilla/The Rock/Elsa From Frozen/Bandycoot Cumberbund and all the purebloods are all O_O SO KEWL OMg!" Like in canon it's pretty obvious it's a normal animal, and if it could be something weird then why wouldn't purebloods have dragons and gryphons and thunderbirds and shit? They're going to go "That's a weird ugly dragon, what kind of dragon is that?" Not "OMG GOJIRRA!!!!111!!1evenentyone!"

There are some of those I liked, but mostly because I always found it a little weird that apparently all muggle-born witches and wizards would ignore muggle things that would probably be a lot simpler than the wizarding equivalent. Like, why would no muggle-born kids ever prefer taking notes with a ball-point pen in a notebook over doing it with a quill and ink on parchment? I've done calligraphy, that shit takes forever to dry!

But the pop culture focused ones get really obnoxious really fast.
