Seconding Steam Powered Giraffe. Also Abney Park was another popular steampunk band back at the height of the genre.

Also seconding Jules Verne because hell yes. Some of HG Wells' stuff is also great, but he goes less for the adventure and more for the story, so the "visuals" might not be as detailed, though a fanwork of his Time Machine, "Morlock Night" was arguably what started off the steampunk genre.
