Like, as a queer person I sure have claimed to be straight before depending on who I was talking to and how much shit I wanted to deal with.

(It's funny how straight people think the only reasons for being closeted are self-loathing or in fear for their lives or at least their jobs. Maybe I don't want to deal with having someone tell me that god loves me anyway, or that they have a cousin that's gay and do I know them, or how much they LOVE Neil Patrick Harris or George Takei.)
