I don't necessarily get the idea of collecting toys (or anything) you don't ever play with but I do like collecting things. I collect Legos but only ones that are interesting to build and give me figures in the fandoms I like.

I do think of the types of toys that aren't playable as akin to sculptures. They're often pretty and/or interesting to look at, and I like to surround myself with things like that the same way I will a pretty painting. I'm surprised how expensive some of them are and I wouldn't pay for that. But then Legos are really expensive and I pay for that, so I can see the price being worth it for some people.
