Interpret the text how you like, but someone else isn't stupid, much less monumentally so, for deciding that a character is telling the truth when he says something definitive about his sexuality. Can people conclude other things? Sure. But concluding that a character is straight because he says that he is in canon (and isn't shown to be obviously lying) is perfectly valid.

It's nice that you live in a world where no one has to be in the closet, in fact I wish I lived there. Unfortunatly, in the one I live in, I work with a lot of Catholics (and actually like most of my job) so I have to stay closeted.

oh come off it lmao it's a fictional character if he was deliberately in the closet there would be evidence in the writing.

Please read again. I said another interpretation is possible. In other words, he could be lying, but thinking he is telling the truth is not stupid.
