Not sure, they've both got their bad bits. The ship-wars of yesteryear I caught the fringes of were no less stupid or nasty, just the ones now are a different kind of stupid and nasty, but it's still the same shit that has been going on forever(and will always go on forever).

I do prefer how much easier it is to find fic now though, I remember having to trawl through pairing shrines and Geocities for fic in my early years of fandom and while ff.net and Ao3 both have the flaws I like how I can just put in my pairing and something will come up(if it exists). And tumblr is decent for fanart.

There's good with the bad basically.
