Since it's come to my attention that certain communities have been purposely posting troll secrets for the lulz, I'm going to start getting harsher on what counts as a non-troll secret, especially regarding the fandom involved.

ETA2: No, this isn't only SPN fandom. This goes for everyone else, too.

I would just like to point out that this is ridiculous in every single way.

It's like starting the He-Man Woman Haters Club and deciding that boys who likes girls can't play. Only clearly, everyone is going to pretend they don't like girls so they can be part of the crew.

Unless you just don't take secrets from anyone in

capslock_spn, there's no way to get rid of "troll secrets". And even then it's imperfect because A) Some of the capslockers might have legitimate secrets and B) I have two other journals I can post secrets from that aren't joined into the community.

And the thing about the community is that you know, I thought it was batshit, too. But I'm new to the fandom and I don't like Wincest, so I couldn't find anywhere to go. And I went there and Wincest is the norm but everyone was really accepting and joking around and reccing me het and gen fic and teasing Jared and Jensen.

I mean, I know it's stupid to care either way whether or not

capslock_spn is allowed to post secrets or not, but this community is so laid back and not-malicious at all that it just seems like a bunch of hurt feelings at being duped.

Even though, maybe I'm incorrect with this, but I was unaware that

capslock_spn made the secrets. I'm sure a few were, but mostly I thought we just LOLed at them??

Honestly, caspslock_spn is the only sane part of this fandom. Seriously. Everyone else takes themselves and the show and the ACTORS too seriously. I've only been active in three fandoms (Degrassi, Heroes, and Supernatural) And the wank i've seen in the spn fandom in the last 2 years surpasses the wank in the 6 years I've been in the dtng fandom. And heroes has NOTHING compared to supernatural, either. This comm just mocks the incest/rps/jensen vs. jared love/hate... and once in a while they post a few not!serious secrets for a few laughs. I hardly see what's wrong with that.

Ditto on Supernatural Fandom taking itself WAY OVER THE TOP serious. It's so crazy. O_O This is a show built on B-Movie cliches and horror movie plots....yet they write up meta like it's term paper thesis.

Well, it's as sane as any other capslock or lol comm. They just know when to laugh when fandom starts it misogynist, incest, homophobic, race-baiting, pedophile, and fat related drama. But not everyone shares the same sense of humor, I guess.

I only notice the amount of internet drama because I lurk around too much wank report communities *g*. And I don't think that fandom actually takes incest outside of fanfiction. Or I hope not, at least.

Sadly....there are a lot that DO support real life incest. I have met a few. They REALLY see no problem with any incest at all.

There is some very interesting writing out there the does involve wincest by authors who I don't THINK actually advocate it. As much as I really, really thought the writing would bother me, though, it hasn't. Heh - maybe I'm just not right in the head.

But there's tons and tons of gen that fantastic - you should at least give

kroki_refur and

buffyaddict13 (among others) a try for good gen fic.

I could give a direct link to the culprits. XD But I don't feel like adding on to the insanity. And I met one of them IRL....she gave me the creeps. Yes. There are some in Supernatural fandom, who REALLY support real life incest. When the person in question started talking about her sister in an EXTREMELY romantic light....I could not have the DO NOT WANT face fast enough.

I'm fine with incest IRL, as long as it's consensual, I just think it very rarely is.

But there's a case of siblings who were adopted by different people, met when they were adults, got married, and then found out they were siblings. Personally? I don't think I have ANY right to tell them how to deal with that situation. If they want to stay together, that is up to them.

Incest is not inherently bad, IMO, it's just that the majority of the time it involves abuse of power, and abuse of power is inherently bad.

I don't think my feelings on this actually up the average level of crazy in my fandom, but you might well feel differently. Just chipping in with my side of things. If you're not interested in discussing it, feel free to ignore me. :)
