Since it's come to my attention that certain communities have been purposely posting troll secrets for the lulz, I'm going to start getting harsher on what counts as a non-troll secret, especially regarding the fandom involved.

ETA2: No, this isn't only SPN fandom. This goes for everyone else, too.

Not saying that I disagree with this decision, but the interesting thing is that some of these troll secrets are hitting fairly close to actual ideas I've had (secretly, to be sure) about the show/characters/fandom. Sometimes the reason that a fandomsecret is secret is because of just how wrong it is. It's going to be difficult to differentiate between troll secrets and genuine secrets that are, all on their own, kind of out-there or offensive.

Not to defend capslock_spn -- cause they really are fucking crazy -- but isn't f!s pretty much here for the lulz, too? I mean, there are only about two or three that are ever serious.

Seriously. All the 'I ship' secrets get passed through, and most of them are clearly fake and made for people to laugh. Why are you all of a sudden singling out the spn fandom?

Can I just say, if you are in anyway referring to the current unlocked post over at capslock_spn, then those secrets are for our own secrets post and not an organised hit on you.

And... now I feel kind of stupid, because I haven't even noticed a random influx of SPN secrets or troll secrets in general. Thanks for taking care of the problem, though!?

I can't believe they're so butthurt over landing in the Not!secret pile a few times that they would organize trolling raids against it.

well, you might say that it will be good to get SPN secrets that aren't from 'trolls' but really it just means there won't be any SPN secrets now. Because basically all SPN secrets are filth, that's what make them secret. And interesting enough to read on a comm like this.

I feel the need to point that our f!s tag is for sharing the daily offering of SPN secrets posted here and talking/laughing about them, not for nefarious purposes of eviiiiil. Not that we don't occasionally partake in a spot of evil, but that's not the tag for it.

Maybe I'm really dumb, but I don't see the connection between having a tag and trolling. Unless it's trolling to watch the community.

Perhaps someone could explain this to me.

As far as anyone really knows, every single secret -whether it's for spn or not- could be from a troll. There's no way to tell the difference. Obviously, or this wouldn't just now be an issue.

I really don't see what the big deal is.
