Is it better than manic pixie dream girl? I mean, I find it more offensive to see career women portrayed negatively, because these are actual real stereotypes that working women (especially at the professional level) have o deal with.

I didn't really see anything negative about her portrayal? I mean, I disliked her sister more for pulling the, "You mean WHEN you have kids." card.

Oh, that was annoying, too. But it was also annoying to see Claire as a professional portrayed as though choosing a career meant she's an unfeeling robot who can't and won't spend time with her nephews, so she has to palm them off on her assistant. Being childless and/or choosing to work full time doesn't mean you view kids as alien lifeforms.
