Iron Man. Many of the companions in Dragon Age. Xander, Leo and Camilla from Fire Emblem. Severa from Fire Emblem. Batman. There's more but I can't think of them right now.

Now that I think about it, I often don't like the companions in Bioware's more recent stuff. I think it's because the mechanics usually encourage you to play along with their bullshit. Other games like Pillars of Eternity penalize you less for calling people out when they're being selfish, bigoted, or self-righteous.

I've never heard of Pillars of Eternity. It looks interesting; I'll have to try it.
