I didn't say it was generally the healthy or correct way of expressing love. It's just his way.

And tbh, I feel like a lot of people spew that phrase without giving a lot of thought to what it really means. We're so obsessed with making sure we tell loved ones we love them just in case something bad happens, but... why is that the only indication we love them, or at least considered to be the only one that counts?
