tbh so much of it boils down to people being disappointed that throwing groups like women a bone occasionally doesn't shut them up. it's not dissimilar to people who thought Obama being elected president meant black people lost the right to complain racism still exists, because GOD wasn't that problem "solved" already??

RATHER, maybe it's because people are tired of being told they can't be happy or excited about diversity because it's not perfect enough. SJWs don't want anyone to be happy in fandom; you've got to be angry and hateful all the time, 24-7, if you're not then you're probably misogynist/homophobe/racist/etc. Happiness is not allowed in fandom. If you're not knee deep in suicidal depression, you're doing it wrong.

They have white privilege because they are white. And depending on the activity and situation that can trump the male privilege of a male POC. Sometimes male privilege of a male POC trumps the white privilege of a white female. In practical terms, white males are at the top and female POCs are at the bottom and the other two groups can shift between second from the bottom and second from the top depending.

If we ever get a second female doctor, and if, by that time, we've still never had a non-white doctor, then I promise I will be right there saying, "This is a good thing that I like and appreciate, but can we please have a person of color play the doctor next?"

From my personal point of view, I think it's okay for different people to react differently to it on some level. And obviously that depends on the specifics, but I dont think having a reaction to the news that's influenced by also wanting more POC characters on television is a bad reaction. You don't have to feel that way but I'm damned if I can see why someone should t feel that way.
