Tbh, OP comes across like a moron.

Who are these 'complaining' SJWs? I'm not seeing anything other than people being happy that we finally have a female doctor for the first time. Anyone who uses the term SJW I pretty much dismiss anyway, as it's pretty much an excuse to rail on anyone who wants any progression in society, even if OP is a 'black woman' as claimed (which I seriously doubt).

Seen those and can see the point as it was just 'yeah, great, but could you please acknowledge UK is very ethnically varied, eh?' which is another issue all together as previous Doctors were white (and still are). Not that it was complains but more of obserbation on media.

You mean like this?

http://stardust-rain.tumblr.com/post/163074957130/stardust-rain-me-finally-the-doctor-is-not

It starts kinda polite then moves into: but white women praise her as if it’s the next coming of feminist jesus while ignoring the blatant and overwhelming whiteness of women-lead sci-fi (like Ghostbusters, Supergirl, MCU, Mad Max) or focus only on the white women in otherwise diverse franchises (Star Wars) or downplay the lack of woc (Wonder Woman, Ghostbusters and Star Wars).

and that? that speaks a very telling story of what white women think of womanhood and race - that woc are not representative of all women, but everyone should stand together to praise white women. that woc don’t “really count” as female representation because of that. that the progress made by woc for themselves isn’t “real progress” unless it benefits whiteness, as if white feminism hasn’t always been the most excluding and exhausting movement for woc.

The stereotyping is gorgeously catty.

I just... wonder, if the poster actually follows any of the shows that are out there, right now, with woc leads, or if they don't count, somehow.

NAYRT

that person is certainly more personally critical of white women than is probably necessary but

that post still says that casting a woman as the Doctor is a good thing and we should be happy about it so I'm not sure it falls within the rubric that we're talking about here

Fair enough.

I do know that the poster's wilful obliviousness to what's actually out there, in favour of getting a mad on and making sweeping derogatory accusations, makes my tits angry.

But you're right, she is technically in favour.

Pheh. This is about the point where I stop getting het up about an angry person on the internet and walk away.

(Thank you for being reasonable; it helped put things in perspective for me.)
