A fairly sizeable portion of a fandom trying to bully an artist with death threats etc. makes it not a fluffy little cuddlefest in my eyes. I'm not the one saying it's all bad, but this part? Yes, it is bad. And thinking an artist getting death threats over fanart is a bad thing is not a knee-jerk reaction, it's common fucking sense. The fact that you don't seem to think so is pretty creepy. And this is not nearly the only thing that has happened in this fandom. And it won't be the last.

I agree.

And thinking an artist getting death threats over fanart is a bad thing is not a knee-jerk reaction, it's common fucking sense.

People are talking about how this proves the entire fandom is garbage. That is a knee-jerk over-reaction that's more about your own assumptions and expectations than it is about reality.
