If you want to bully people in this day and age, and you're even pretending to be an adult, you don't do it with insults and ad hominem attacks, slurs, shade, insults any of the classic shit that has become far far easier to combat.

You do it by claiming a moral high ground and then you find anyone anywhere who is on a lower ground, or even just appears to be on a lower ground, and then you go after them with the same level of hate and aggression that the old-school schoolyard bullies used to use. And the same crew of people who would have cheered you on for picking on the ginger kid in school now swarm around you telling you what a good person you are, and how that other person should just die.

Is this the one where after it had finally calmed down they were like AND OH BY THE WAY, YEAH, I CALL MY FRIENDS 'NIGGER', WHAT'S IT TO YOU

It was dumb to bring into public light, but if a black circle of friends give a non-black permission to use nigga in that context I don't see the issue.

Oh, okay, that's not as bad. I thought it was just something they'd... stated out of the blue to rile people up more, I didn't realize it was "pulling receipts" shit. That's my mistake, I take it back. Shouldn't comment on shit I don't follow too closely, haha.

That only came up because, like they love to do, the people who sent her death threats went through all her stuff and found that one text. And quite honestly, after getting harrassed like that, I think the artist had every right to give that one not-so-smart overreaction in the end.

That's my bad, I was just going on what I'd heard through the grapevine. I can't stand that "receipts" shit. Yeah, I think they're justified, at that point.

People in fandom need to learn if they don't like a piece of fanart/fanfic/etc they can just fucking ignore it. It is FANart, it ain't canon, it's not going to mess up your canon Dream Daddy.

This shit is no reason to harass someone until they feel the need to quit social media, I really hate the internet sometimes.

I honestly didn't even care about the art, but "I call my friends the n word" ..... my sympathy is gone.

If you think one dumb comment like that means someone deserves to get bullied, harrassed and threatened, you are a much shittier person than I thought.

Honestly by now I'm not even surprised anymore. Like you could tell me they went to someone's house and set it on fire and my only reaction would be "oh".

But I also think that apathy is definitely not the solution. This kind of attitude where harassment, dead threads and where users (PEOPLE) are being listed as "problematic" just should not fly and the people who do this should be called out on it. I don't care if they are 14 or 40 this kind of shit should not fly.
