with the knowledge you know now on the condition that you will die ten years early than you would have had you not taken this offer.

Do you take it?

Hell no.

10 years isn't long enough to make a significant difference in my life, I'd have to go back at least 20 to be able to make any big changes. If I want to change my life entirely I'd have to go back 30. Can't go back any more then that though since I wouldn't be alive yet.

So, no.

Eh. Most of the worst things I'd change involve trying to save my parents' lives. I think I might've been able to stop my dad dying the way he did, but probably not stop him dying, and if he'd lived he would've probably still been a danger to everyone around him, including me. I think maybe my mom would've lived a bit longer if she hadn't blamed herself for his death, but I spent over two decades trying to get her to stop drinking and telling her it would kill her, and her doctors and her friends and family that knew said the same, but she was suicidal practically her whole life. I guess I could change her retirement benefits so I'd get her pension when she died; it was only an option if she drew it for ten years or less, and I thought she'd live longer; she didn't even make it three years.

It's not like I'd be able to stop Resident Chump from being elected, so the only bright spot would involve memorizing a list of winning lotto jackpot numbers. And considering everyone in my family who didn't die of addiction died of cancer (unless they had both) I don't think I want to knock ten years off my life for that.

Wait, do you mean going back would actually cost me time? Or do you just mean that I'd die ten years younger as a result of having gone back ten years?

If the latter, then yes, absolutely. I wasted my twenties frozen in a pit of anxiety and depression, doing absolutely nothing. But I've recently started to get my feet under me.

If I went back now I could do some modeling, and have a better shot of getting into acting. Hell, I could do all of that and slowly earn a degree a few courses at a time. Plus, my father is my best friend and favorite person, and this way I'd have ten fewer years to live without him.

Yes. Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

Can I at least know how long I would have had before making this decision?

Why not!

What if I make a choice with my life in the relived portion that would extend my altered life in comparison to my prime-timeline life?

Guess that'd work too. Should have phrased it better.

Yes, because the "Down Side" isn't a down side. You're not losing anything. You're trading the last ten years of your live to have and extra 10 years in the middle.

Yes. I would in a heartbeat if I could.

The last ten years of my life? Probably not. I mean, it's tempting, but I'd still be just as lost and fucked up in terms of everything. The first ten years of my life, however, maybe. And that's only if I get to be raised by sane people, people who instill in me age appropriate lessons and set me up with the proper tools to become a caring and responsible adult who respects themselves and everyone else. At least have this happen just in time before anything can destroy such strong foundations and roots. I want a true life, not a false promise and a replay of all my former failures brought upon by a hellish upbringing.

No.
I've had some bad years, but I'm not sure that knowing what I know now would fix them.
I don't want to relive those years. I want to move forward from here. Things are going well, finally.
I'm in a better life situation.
Do I really want to go back to living with my parents and what an agony so much of it was? Nopitty.
My health is in a better place, nearly everything about me is in a better place. Just having a head knowledge of that wouldn't have fixed the last ten years.
