I stopped watching Who not because of the Dr but because of how the writers were writing women. It was constant sexism wrapped up in jokes and insinuations. I heard that it improved but by then nothing was pulling me in. Bill intrigued me but it was the same writers so I didn't bother. For me this is not just about it being a new Doctor and that Doctor being female but large scale changes to the show. If I don't like what I see I'll stop watching again.

This for me as well. I will check out new episodes not just because there is a woman doctor but because of other changes in addition to that which make it seem more likely I'll enjoy the show. I don't engage with the fandom, though, so OP, I'll likely fortunately never run across you. Judge me as you will.

Me too. I gave up on Moffat, not one particular Doctor; with that showrunner we would never get woman as fully formed independent human beings.

Same here. I'm not coming back because the Doctor is female (though I also think that's great). I'm coming back because Moffat is leaving. Judge away, OP.
