Do yourself a favour and don't read the books. The show aged up just about everyone who's under 25 in the books and most of them are far more mature in the books despite being anywhere from 2-10 years younger than they are in the show.

But even without knowing that, it's pretty obvious the Ds don't care about tumblr. The young people posting gif sets and arguing about social justice in between complaining about their homework and their parents aren't paying for HBO or Sky or whatever premium service in their country carries GoT. They don't count for ratings, their money isn't going into the pot to finance the show, and their enjoyment is irrelevant.

Yeah wonder what OP would make of Robb leading the northern armies at 14.

Given that Robb was lead by his mother and kept on making poor decisions that lead to him and everyone else being killed? I'm fine with it.

His military successes weren't attributed to his mother. He was literally a wunderkind that rallied his bannermen around him, which is the precise thing you're complaining about here.

Yeah like when he pissed off the Karstarks for executing Rickard. He would constantly come into conflict and being challenged by his people. It's not like a little girl always coming out and getting the last word.

It's not like we know how Lyanna Mormont will end up in the show either? Book!Robb enjoyed a fairly long run of (mostly off-screen) wins before beginning his downfall.

And anyway, the thing here that you're conveniently ignoring here is that Lyanna doesn't hold nearly the amount of power that Joff, Tommen, Robin, and even Robb did. Even among the northern houses, her family's holding is small and her manpower limited -- they even made a thing of this in the show pre-Battle of the Bastards. She's allowed to be a little wish-fulfillment-y because ultimately her character doesn't call the shots. Maybe the reason the kid hasn't become a tyrant is that, you know, she's got nothing to be tyrannical over.

And she pays more attention to her adult advisors. Also her mother - from what I know of her - did not seem the same cut as Cersei and would not have pampered Lyanna the way Cersei pampered her children.
