I'm so confused by the last sentence. Just... you do know that quite a few experienced and respected British actors have appeared on Broadchurch? Why the fuck are you referring to it like some sort of conspiracy theorist? "Ooh, she only got the job because she was on this other popular and successful British TV series! How scandalous!"

Well, they do share showrunners and there was a lot of cross-over talent.

Honestly, if they were going to pick someone from Broadchurch, I would much rather they had gone with Olivia Colman. I could see her being a really awesome Doctor.

The insinuation is, "Chris Chibnall created Broadchurch, therefore he is casting a Broadchurch actor."

Which is... totally normal and common. Russell T. Davies wrote The Second Coming, starring Christopher Eccleston as possibly Jesus in 2003. And David Tennant in RTD's Casanova in 2005. This is literally how actors get jobs.

Yes, this.

Matt Smith and Capaldi didn't get the role that way, so your point is moot.Especially because Ten proves that just because you worked with a show runner before and they think you'd be a good Doctor, doesn't mean you will be.
