I'm actually kinda glad that there's no real ship in the movie because Steven Strange as presented is pretty much unshippable without some significant character growth that was just getting rolling.

Not to go into this rant in full again, but you're totally right, and it's the worst part about MCU!Strange.

Because everything that's interesting about Strange as a character comes after that significant character growth.

TBH, it's a bit of a flaw in the MCU, except maybe for GoG which fully embraces the superhero-as-farce reality. But that's a rant for another time.
